| The Historic 1911 Texas and Pacific
Railroad Depot is currently undergoing a complete restoration. When
completed the building will house the Chamber of Commerce, a visitor center,
transportation museum, gift shop and several meeting rooms. A
covered outdoor pavilion will be constructed at the west end of the
building. This building can be used for both public and private
events. ADA restroom facilities will be available for shoppers and
visitors and a large vehicle parking area will be provided. Total cost of the project is $1,480,000. The Texas Department of Transportation 2001 Enhancement Program is funding 80% of the cost. The 20% matching funds were obtained through local effort. Komatsu Architecture of Fort Worth Texas authored the master plan for the project and is engaged in the PS & E phase of the project.
